Kid’s Ministry
Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point. If you sell something, use this space to describe it in detail and tell us why we should make a purchase. Tap into your creativity. You’ve got this.
Kids at Nativity
-
Children’s Word Time gives kids a chance to engage Scripture through age-appropriate lessons, games, and activities during the sermon at the 10am service during the school year.
For more, contact Dr. Aaron Davis (Fellowship Engagement Director).
-
Kids Music Time plugs children into Nativity’s music ministries. Once a month at our 10am service, kids are invited to gather in the choir room to sing and play instruments together. They will also often prepare a songs which are shared with the congregation several times a year.
For more, contact Ed Hauck (Director of Worship and Music).
-
Every Sunday at 10am kids and parents are welcome to use our Family Room. This space adjacent to our sanctuary provide a fun, safe environment for children to play while keeping parents connected with the worship service through a livestream monitor.
For more, contact Dr. Aaron Davis (Fellowship Engagement Director).
Youth Ministry
All are welcome here
Our youth ministry is a chance for middle and high schoolers to care, grow, and serve alongside one another and the wider church. Our youth attend public, private, and charter schools across Buncombe and Henderson counties.
Being part of Nativity’s youth ministry means getting to build connections and make friends with peers and trusted adults, working together as disciples of Jesus Christ. Faith, fun, and fellowship are at the center of all we do!
What we do
Sunday evenings
We meet each week during the school year (Sept.-May) to share a meal at 5:30pm and enjoy small group activities at 6pm. Bible studies, games, service projects, and more are found here.
Outings
Throughout the year we go out on fellowship outings like bowling, put-putting, and snow tubing. We’re always excited to spend some time together having fun.
Retreats
We enjoy out-of-town retreats to places like the NC Synod Lutheran Youth Organization’s Assembly or the beach for some time in the surf and sun. These trips are great chances to bond with one another and build lasting friendships.
Invitations to ministry
At Nativity, youth are invited to participate fully in the life and ministry of the church. This means there are a variety of ways for them to serve others throughout the year.
Many serve as acolytes and crucifers during worship, but there are lots of other ways to get involved. Check out some of Nativity’s ministry opportunities here.
